Tändstickmuseet

Matchstick museum--this is what we did Sunday after Mass Emilia and I were going to meet people from my dorm there, but they decided to not show!  We went around the museum ourselves then.  It was very cool learning about the history of the match and matchboxes and how so many of them were made right here in Jönköping!  Here's a bit of what we saw and did:

This is a same part of the process they used

The desk from which everything was controlled

There were a lot of child workers in the beginning, they could be paid a lot less and work faster, this is the photos of just a few.

Sideways for your viewing pleasure :P
We got to put together our own packs of "matches"

Inventions of new machines increased the production of matches, and decreased the number of child workers.

Very impressive machine and was almost fully automated!!

this is one of the stones they printed the match boxes from.

something special in the left upper corner!

they like llamas....
SEE?  They really like llamas!

After the match museum we went to a picnic with quite a few others and had an overall great day!

Blog ya later!
