Goteborg: {2}

We both accidentally woke up pretty early Saturday, and so we went on a hike about the town he lived in.  It was a very nice hike.  We got back to his flat and picked up our stuff to go and met his land lord {s} outside with their kid.  They were very very nice people.  We talked to them for a while, I tried my Swedish a bit, learned they are both Mechanical Engineers {woot!} and he works with making ships {which is one of the things I was looking at!}.  They ended up letting me use their city card to get around so I wouldn't have to pay all the trams and such, so the day pretty much started fantastic style!

Albrecht's landlords suggested we go to one of the islands off of Goteborg, so we went to the farthest one we could...

We finally got to our island and scoped out the highest point to go and enjoy the sun that decided to finally show itself!

And we did a bit of adventuring....

Albrecht, my host for the day.

But it was time to head out, we wanted to go one more place {he hadn't even been to the islands yet} to go before I had to run!

In here is where we almost ran through the Slottsskogen {a city park/zoo thing, like Stadsparken in Jönköping...just bigger}

The trams we kept riding, and getting thrown about in everytime it started!

The last I saw of Goteborg, and in the distance you can see läppstrifte----lipstick, the name the swedes gave to the building.
It was a great time in Gothenburg, and I have no idea how I saw so much on Friday.  In my guessimates, I walked about 50km actually {I sorta measured, but had guessed higher at 60km before}.  I would suggest a trip to Gothenburg to see the sights, or at least get to the islands!  But Albrecht told me about the islands on the otherside of Sweden ..... I feel another trip coming on ;P

Hope you enjoyed this Gothenburg journey with me!

Blog you later!

Goteborg: Adventure {1} end of day one!

After my museum rounds I continued my adventuring about:

Here's that church I saw in the City museum!

The Fish Church was not as impressive as they made it sound, but maybe I missed the main event.

I went to the fish church first because it was to close at 6, then went back to the actual church I had seen. {I was just trying to get my exercise ;P}

Only one more place to go!---but all these stairs!!

But it was worth it once I got to the top!

And this is when my camera died, not a bad picture to get out beforehand!  The prefect picture of a sunset over a set on cannons ;).

As I was up on this hill {it has a large tower with a golden krown on top of it} the guy I was staying with actually called me and we met at the Fish church and went to eat.  I ended up being the guide to get there, for I had walked this entire part of the city!!  We had fun {he had brought a workmate} and talked for a long time.

After a while we went and had to take the train to where he lived and ended up staying up late talking about science, languages, and even the muppets!

It was a very good first day!
