Coming to the 'slut'

Slut = Swedish word for end, or final
But it seems that I am coming up on my final days of just school days with my new found friends, as I go embarking on my quests throughout Europe.
I have met so many awesome people, learned so many things, one of which is you don't learn in Swedish Universities much ;P  {I like our system much better!}
But here is the last......week...ish?

time to start off!

Last Saturday I went for a bike ride over to huskvarna, little did I know so much would come out of a simple visit.  I went to go see the Rosegarden there, and a Swedish man came up to me and said something {in Swedish, javisst!}

At this point is where he came up to me and asked me if I knew the bird that was making that call.  From then on he took me all about the garden and told me of the plants and birds, and I could tell him the English name from working with plants for so long at home.

Koltrast--national bird of Sweden

some odd nut only French people eat.

English--Fern leaf peony
He then took me around some of the city and told me more about Sweden and Jonkoping.  He then got me ice cream and told me about a guy he was playing chess with.....who I now play against as well.  He is a 97 year old man in the nursing home near the rose garden, but he move about his apartment on his own, and can move the pieces by himself, and kicks my butt by himself {I only win about 25% :P}.  He then went on to tell me about a nice trail I should go on if I had time before going back home.

This is where Adam and I played when we canoed across the lake

When I got back, we had a grill out for Ola got a Job!

Monday I had my last concert :(

owning the couch

we're big time!

the Swedish kids I played with, rode the bus with, and taught me new Swedish words.

They were just as odd as me ;)

Tuesday was my first chess game, and then Wednesday was the last exam of Sweden!  and it kicked us in the face!

But we made it better by going to aka with bowties!

And I got Adam to go to his first Aka!

Thursday was bye trumpet day :(  and many other chores day!

Friday was a Party for the 20 celebration of the university being a foundation by itself, so it was throwing a big party and I went with the band!

right after the party we had one last 'jam' session, it was rather nice and fun!!!
there was even emotion for guys,  but only a lagom amount
no worries ;P

Jessica left us Saturday morning and I took her to the train station, it had begun, the point where everyone starts to either leave or go on adventures, which mine is just this Thursday!!  ahhhhh!

Saturday evening was an Event called 'The Last Party', very creative
I went about and got pictures with everyone, danced and walked home about 2am, in time to go see the sunrise at 4am with Murat, a turkish guy from Vilhelmsro.  Now today, mostly just chores getting ready for my trips!  More on that later, I need to get to Mass!!!

{and sleep sometime....I haven't quite gotten to that since Friday night ;P}
{this also explains the errors ;P}

Inbetween and beyond

I thought I would just say quickly what I was up to in between my trips.  Besides the normal studies, I manage to get a few interesting activities in.

First thing:
International Day for engineering students: April 9th --ish
{I just never got to this, Emilia wrote more about it in her blog, and I also tried the worm she talks about...but she did a much better job at taking it.  She just popped it right in...I stared it in the eyes first--not a good way to start}

Polish, from the University of Loolz ;)

One day Emilia and I tried to get semlar, but we were a week late!!  So we tried a classic Swedish sandwich!

 One day I didn't feel like studying inside, so I would read a chapter and hike to another bench to study more.  I ended up reading in Stadsparken for the day.

Adam and I went across the entire lake (5km) with our Macgyver paddles.  AND we made it back!

And I have been doing a lot for my materials lab, you can see the productivity.

Darth Gryska
I can't take credit for that name.
But she may force choke me when she sees this ;P
And tomorrow we have a potluck here at Furan, so I'll put up some photos tomorrow of that!
Otherwise, I'm going to be studying for exams! YAY!

UPDATE:
Potluck=success, everyone I think had their fill
What I made...I guess my bread was both "very Polish" and from Southern Germany...
Also, I'm a momma now I guess....That's what Ola said when she smelled it ;P

I think we all had fun....and a lot of food ;P
We also went out and played volleyball and a Hong kongian game.  Later: VIKING BASKETBALL!!  It was extreme.  But they didn't understand when I tried to make volleyball extreme by sounding like a tennis player...I guess that's not as fun here as at home ;P.
