Currency, finally getting to it!

Jeepers!
Do you have the time, to .....
NO!  Muhahaha, well anywho, it isn't actually super busy here.  I have been doing a bit more exploring, we've had quite a few lectures about Sweden and what we need to do while here, quite a few "get to know" the fellow students times, and a couple oops, I fell asleep times....

Get on with it!--This one is to help understand (or learn) the currency over here.

The currency in Sweden is the Krona, it is roughly 1 USD = 6.5 Krona.  Sounds good, right? .....Yeah, many things are just more here then they would ever be back in the States.  If you go out, expect it to be at least 80:-  [that's their dollar sign. It took me a while to figure out why that was there at first (that first day when at IKEA to be exact).]  You may be thinking--'that's not so bad'---well, that's a meal at a place like Burger King or McDonald's [called Maxx here].

This is just what a few of them look like.

I took a few pictures of the exchange between the currencies a have right now.

Danish Kroner to USD

Swedish Krona to USD.

Euro to USD

Here are just the Swedish Krona, or Crowns as they call them, that I will be using the most of.

While everything does seem to be on the rather high side, you can get some cheaper food.  I got 1kg of spaghetti noodles (=2.2lbs) for 7 Crowns [7:-], which is about a dollar and ten cents, not to bad!  We also went out to eat one day when we were off exploring, and it was 59:- for a steak and some fancy potatoes.  The price was not to bad looking back, about $9 for that!--We did not get drinks because that is where they got you!--upwards of 15:- for any drink! [including water].  So as long as you use your head, you can find yourself some cheap food.  You will always be cooking it though, any prepared food is expensive because of the VAT (Value Added Tax)--But this means that the price you read on the product is the price it is!  No having to calculate 7% on top of that 99 cents!

Speaking cents!--There are cents in euros, but for Crowns, there is no such thing.  If something is 7,45:-, the price you get is 7:-, if it is 7,60:-, the price you get is 8:-.

That is all for this one!

Blog ya later!
