Not Quite a Magic Carpet Ride

Hello!! or Hej!

This writing thingy is about my trip to Jönköping, Sweden-a place where no one seems to know where Iowa is.
There they are!

On a completely unrated note, here we go!

The mission was assigned, to go where only a few Plattevillians have gone before.  To breach the waters of not knowing the language someone is speaking at you, and to learn the skills of the Swedish Engineer!  This adventure into the unknown required tackling a flurry of snow particles, the first plane flight was calibrated (de-iced) and we got to Chicago just fine.

All sorts of colours for de-icing!

I made it a point to learn one crew mate on each leg of the journey, on this one I met Kim, the clerk at salvage place in Arkansas, and crazy this, had a niece who went to UW-P!  We waited in the aircraft after we landed to be able to depart for about 40 minutes.  In the end, we were to wait 4 hours longer than we were supposed to and thus missed our connecting flight in Düsseldorf, Germany.  While waiting we did speak with a pretty cool man César, who was from Mexico, but had a job in Germany.  He told us all about Berlin, the people of Europe and cleared up a few stereotypes, and also told us about Mexico.  When we finally got on the plane all was well!!  This time I met a couple (who were very close to being parents) Brandon and Britton [or close....ish] and he worked for NATO and his plane [and him] were in Transformers 1 and 2! (I haven't re-watched it yet to see!)  They warned me of a few oddities of Europe, no free refills, and ketchup costs money.
The turbine is about 8ft in diameter!!

Once in Germany we got our first foreign stamp on mission complete-ness!  This was at 10AM and we had to wait until 5PM for our flight to Copenhagen.  We had already been forced outside security, so we rechecked our bags and went to check out Düsseldorf.  We were ambitious, perhaps to much when we couldn't even solve to ticket machine.  But a very nice man, we shall call him Train Man, helped us and even took us to our train we need and told us how to get back.
This is how many plane tickets I guess you need to make it here!

Our train tickets to gallivant about Germany (right), and Copenhagen (left).

While in Düsseldorf we mostly wanted to see a German town and take pictures, everyone else thought we wanted to go drink........  After our pictures and reentry to the airport, our mission could continue--even if we were very confused on our way back on the train.  We used a meal voucher we got for the plane being late... 18 euros got us spaghetti and a drink!--And that was all!
Düsseldorf airport, we made it!

Four wheeler.....street savvy?

I should give up that engineering thing and take pictures...

Rocking it in the city of Düsseldorf!

Can you see what I see.....
I guess you can :D

On the flight to Copenhagen I met no one, mostly because I passed out hard core at the controls. Luckily my mission partner Brian took the wheel, and even ordered me some interesting chips.....

We got to Copenhagen [or as it is to them--København] and had to find our hostel we booked.  This turned into an adventure of it's own.
This was about 4 miles....with luggage, we are going to be so buff when we come back!

Once we got there, the clerk offered us a towel, but we decided to just go upstairs and take showers instead, check in with our parents so their knew our missions were continual, and go to BED!!

Today's adventures are up for tomorrow's Blog!
